My ice maker has the ‘clean light’ flashing. Is this something that I can do clean by myself?

Yes! We recommend purchasing a nickel-safe ice maker cleaning formula. This formula is specifically designed for your machine. The instructions are marked on the bottle and we recommend purchasing the cleaner from Amazon or Berings Hardware store.

Yes! Our yearly service includes:

  • Cleaning every inner component of your ice maker
  • Recirculation pumps
  • Drain pump
  • Bin
  • Condenser vacuuming
  • Deep clean cycle

The most common culprit of ice-maker failure is a dirty ice-maker. Unfortunately, the hard water we have in Texas is catastrophic to our ice makers! We recommend running the clean cycle on your ice-maker every 3 months. It’s a simple and inexpensive maintenance that will save you hundreds of dollars in the long-term!

Under-counter ice makers are equipped with an external drain pump that fails about every 10 years. You will notice that the ice bin is left with standing water when the pump fails. Please call us at (281) 758-9978 if you believe that this may be the issue with your ice-maker.

Under-counter ice-makers have a wire evaporator cutting grid that heats in order to cut the slab of ice. When these cutting grids fail, it interrupts the entire ice making and ice will no longer be made. Please contact us at (281) 758-9978 for replacement and service by one of our specialized technicians.

There’s an electronic inlet water valve that provides water for the ice-making process. When this fails, the ice bin will be warm to the touch and it will not produce ice. This will also cause a loud sound while in the on position.

There’s a recirculation pump inside the ice maker that recirculates the water to the evaporator for freezing. These pumps fail due to corrosion; we keep these pumps in stock please call us at 281-758-9978 to schedule an appointment for service.
