Freezer FAQ

We hope this troubleshooting guide below will help answer the most common problems in regards to  your freezer. If the problem persists, please do not hesitate to ccll us at (281) 758-9978  to further troubleshoot or to arrange one of our specialized technicians to resolve any problems.

  • Why is my freezer making loud, weird noises?

The first thing to check would be the ice maker. It could be simply harvesting ice. But the most popular problem would be changing the evaporator fan motor.

  • Why do I have frost build-up?

Sometimes the solution is as simple as making sure the door is closed. It could also be because the temperature is set too low.

  • A small area by the fridge is wet. Do I have a leak?

First, make sure you didn't spill any water or drop any cubes. A more serious issue would be the defrost drain has frozen over and needs to be defrosted and cleaned.

  • My freezer won't run.

Check if the power light and freezer light are working. If not, power might not be out. Next, make sure the appliance controls are correctly set.

  • The temperature is too warm.

You may need to change the temperature to something cooler. If that does not work, you likely need to replace the defrost thermostat. The normal freezer temperature is between 0ºF and 5ºF.
